Rust, stripes and a bit of texture.

Two cushions on stool.

If your sofa is looking a little... well, sofa-ish, this is an easy fix.

We're very into warm rust tones at the moment. Earthy without being boring, colourful without screaming for attention, and particularly good mixed with timber, creams, olive greens, chocolate browns and the occasional hit of chrome.

Then there's the texture.

These striped corduroy cushion covers have that lovely chunky, tactile look that makes a sofa feel instantly more layered, especially if the rest of your cushions are fairly plain. The cross-over stripe also gives them a slightly graphic feel, so they're doing considerably more than your average square of fabric.

And please don't feel the need to buy four and arrange them symmetrically.

Mix one with a floral. Throw in a check. Add something plain and oversized. Your cushions are allowed to know different people.

Because sometimes a room doesn't need redecorating.

It just needs texture and a bit of confidence.
